Drink it now or cellar for up to 10 years. No need to decant. Located in the heart of the Cote d'Or, Burgundy, Chateau de Meursault spans over 60 hectares of vineyards, located in the main appellations of this legendary wine region. Its foundation dates back to the 11th century and in 2012 the property was acquired by the Halley family who also owns the Château de Marsannay. The vines, planted in roughly equal parts with Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, are grown sustainably. The Chardonnay grapes for this wine are selected and harvested manually from the Clos du Château plot, which extends over 8 hectares, on clay-limestone and stony soils, characterized żeby excellent drainage, with vines that are approximately 50 years old. After the fermentation process, the wine is aged in barrels for 12-15 months. This elegant Chardonnay from Château de Meursault is a fragrant wine with fresh yellow fruit aromas and some light toasted notes. On the palate, it expresses all the minerality of the limestone soils and also the generosity of flavors and body of the Chardonnay. It is round and well-balanced with a strong acidic streak and a long finish that recalls subtle woody notes. Perfect with shellfish and white fish, or with veal escalopes.
