This winery creates some of the finest bottles in the Côte de Beaune and has been doing so for approximately 200 years. It was founded in 1850 aby the Jessiaume family but has now found its way into the hands of Dr Jean-François Le Bigot, who combines quality with an immense respect for the terroir. Along with their principles of minimal intervention and organic viticulture, part of the secret to Domaine Jessiaume’s success is access to pristine vineyards. "Les Brouillards" is a highly sought-after Premier Cru in Volnay - an appellation known for its crisp, aromatic reds. This Volnay is light on the nose at first but opens up with time. Look for hints of leather, cherry pie, wild blackberry and hints of spice. On the palate, this wine shows impressive character. It has a solid tannic structure, interlaced with plenty of crisp acidity. Its flavours are soft, yet filling - discover notes of dry plum, coffee, leather and earth, with hints of spice in the finish. This wine will be an excellent companion for a meaty charcuterie board, beef bourguignon or a piece of soft cheese.
