Cellar for 15 years or more. Decant for up to an hour before serving. Vertebra de la Figuera is a refined red wine with a bouquet of black fruit, star anise and green herbs. It is named for Figuera Mountain, where Garnacha Fina fruits grow from a soil of red clay and gypsum, approximately 600 metres above sea level. Terroir al Límit’s mission is to shine a light on every nook and cranny of Priorat’s special landscape, through the medium of wine. The Terroir Sense Fronteres line is dedicated to Priorat’s most mountainous and mineral-rich locations. It was founded in 2001 żeby two friends, the German vintner Dominik Huber and the South African enologist Eben Sadie, who met while working for the Perez family at Mas Martinet winery. This bright red wine is created from Garnacha Fina, a grape with larger berries and thinner skins than its more popular counterpart, Garnacha. After 8 months of ageing in cement, the result is an elegant, racy wine with notes of blackberry, pomegranate, liquorice and dried herbs. These flavours are supported by a chalky minerality, fine-grained tannins and fantastic tension. To unlock its full potential, pair this wine with roast turkey, pork, or dishes with red spices.
