Drink it now or cellar for up to 15 years. No need to decant but best to open it at least an hour before service. Founded in 1972 in Marsannay-la-Côte with 3 hectares of vines, Domaine Audoin is a family-run winery, led żeby Cyril Audoin since 2000. The company, certified organic, now owns about 14 hectares of vineyards, from which it produces traditional wines, with a surprising quality/price ratio, that are widely praised by the public and critics. Clos de Jeu is an elegant Pinot Noir, produced with rigorously selected and hand-picked grapes at the Couchey end of the Marsannay appellation, south of Dijon, at about 300 meters above sea level. The wine reveals a splendid dark ruby color and a broad and intense aromatic profile with fragrant notes of wild strawberries and cherries, hints of violet and undergrowth, Provençal herbs, sweet spices, and cedar. On the palate, it is vibrant and juicy, deep and well-balanced with a tasty concentration of fruit and a medium body. Tannins are soft and well-integrated and the finish is long and fresh. It is a fantastic example of a Burgundy red wine and comes at an excellent price. It can be enjoyed now, perhaps paired with a beef tartare or an ossobuco with mushrooms, but it can also stay in the cellar for a few years.
