Enjoy it now, or cellar for up to 10 years. No need to decant before serving. Domaine Pierre Guillemot was founded in 1946 and occupies a charming corner of Savigny-les-Beaune’s town square. It is run aby brothers Vincent and Pierre, who source their grapes, both red and white, from 8 hectares of land, spread across the green fields of Burgundy. They represent the sixth generation of Guillemot winemakers and have a wealth of generational knowledge to draw from. This is the winery’s first pure Chardonnay bottling. On the nose, you can discover scents of limestone minerality, white flowers, hazelnuts, and lemon and orange peel. It was crafted with grapes from a sparse, rocky site above the Côte de Beaune region, exhibiting a different side of Burgundy - as the Guillemot family see it. These rich, mineral notes continue into the palate, along with a delicate creaminess, hints of toasted nuts, and vibrant acidity. Look for notes of citrus zest, candied lemon, acacia, wet stone, sea shells, and tart orchard fruits. It is a refined, classy wine, the perfect choice for those seeking an underrated white Burgundy, from an esteemed winemaking family. Consider pairing it with soft cheese, creamy pasta, or a roast chicken.
