Drink it now or cellar for up to 30 years. It is recommended to decant it for an hour. Tenuta di Trinoro was founded in the 1990s by Andrea Franchetti in Val d'Orcia, southern Tuscany. After a period of research in France, specifically in the Bordeaux region, Franchetti decided to plant the international vines Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Petit Verdot in Val d’Orcia to make his own wines. The company, located in Sarteano, today owns 200 hectares of land, of which 22 hectares are under vineyards. Here Tenuta di Trinoro produces prestigious wines with great aging potential acclaimed by critics and consumers. Tenuta di Trinoro is a Super-Tuscan produced in limited quantities with Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Petit Verdot grapes, grown and harvested aby hand in the company vineyards surrounding the cellar. The finished wine rests for approximately 8 months in French oak barriques and a further 11 months in concrete vats. The wine has a lively color with ruby-red tones. Its aromatic profile is seductive with notes of ripe dark fruit and (blueberry, cassis, plum) hints of pepper and Mediterranean herbs. On the palate, it is well-balanced, soft and round, powerful and elegant. It has firm, well-integrated tannins and a long, fresh finish that recalls delicate fruity notes. Perfect with beef filet in mushroom sauce or with truffles.
