Drink it now or cellar for up to 10 years. No need to decant. Located in Sarteano, in southern Tuscany, Andrea Franchetti's Tenuta di Trinoro has been producing highly prestigious wines from international vines since the end of the 90s. The company owns approximately 22 hectares of vineyards distributed across the 200 hectares of the estate, in the Val d' Orcia, an area particularly favorable to the cultivation of vines, with terroir characteristics similar to those of the Bordeaux wine region. The Cabernet Franc grapes are selected and harvested from a parcel located at the bottom of the valley where a river once passed. The vines imported from Pomerol are approximately 20 years old and rest on gravelly and alluvial soils. The finished wine is aged for 8 months in barriques and cement. Toscana Rosso IGT Campo di Magnacosta is a powerful and elegant wine with a brilliant ruby red color. Its aromatic profile is broad and intense with notes of dark fruits such as plum and blueberry, medicinal herbs and tobacco, and some spicy hints. On the palate, it is full-bodied and complex, fresh and well-balanced. The finish is long and persistent and recalls spicy notes. It is excellent with red meat and mushrooms, or with mature cheeses.
