Drink it now or cellar for up to 10 years. It is recommended to decant it for an hour. Established in 1999, Susana Balbo's estate is located in the heart of the western province of Mendoza, at the foot of the Andes mountain range. Thanks to its strategic position, the vineyard benefits from natural irrigation due to the long melting of the ice in the high mountains, which acts as a natural water reserve. The company produces a wide range of wines from a variety of grape varieties, including the emblematic Argentine Malbec, the indigenous Torrontes, and some international varietals such as Cabernet Sauvignon. BenMarco Expresivo by Susana Balbo is produced from a blend of about 80% Malbec and 20% Cabernet Franc. The grapes come from a Gualtallary vineyard in the Uco Valley located at an altitude of 1300 meters. The harvest is manual and the fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts. The wine is aged for 14 months in French oak barrels, 70% of which are new. It is a fresh and harmonious wine that reveals delicate fragrances of blackberries, pepper, and violets. On the palate, it is characterful with firm tannins, a good acid vein, and a marked mineral note given aby the terroir of origin. Try it with roast pork tenderloin in mushroom sauce and grilled meat.
