Drink it now or cellar for up to 10 years. No need to decant but best to open it half an hour before service. Located in Savigny-les-Beaune, in the Cote d'Or, Burgundy, Domaine Jean-Jacques Girard is a family-run winery with a long tradition that spans over 5 centuries. Today, the estate, which extends for about 15 hectares of vineyards, is in the hands of Jean-Jacques Girard, who runs it with the help of his wife Agnès and their son Vincent. The company, which practices sustainable agriculture, produces high-quality wines from 22 appellations that include several Premiers and Grands Crus. The Chardonnay grapes are sourced from vineyards located in the commune of Pernand-Vergelesses. After vinification, the finished wine rests in oak barrels for 10 months before bottling. Pernand-Vergelesses Les Belles Filles shows a bright straw yellow color. On the nose, it reveals a delicate aromatic profile with a fresh bouquet made of white flowers and juicy apples, followed żeby some mineral notes. On the palate, it is soft and elegant with a good concentration of fruit and a well-balanced acidity. The finish is long and persistent. This wine is an excellent choice for a classy aperitif and it makes a great match with seafood or pan-fried veal sweetbreads.
