Drink it now or cellar for up to 20 years. It is recommended to decant it for an hour. Located in Meursault, in the heart of Burgundy, the Latour family has an ancient winemaking tradition, and in 1958, their business merged with that of the Giraud family to form a single estate.
Today, Domaine Latour Giraud has a wide range of vineyards of both Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, including Villages and Premier Crus denominations, managed since the 90s aby the oenologist Jean-Pierre Latour who revolutionized the company philosophy by introducing organic practices, lowering yields, and renewing the equipment in the cellar.
The Chardonnay grapes come from the superb Premier Cru Genevrieres where the Domaine owns approximately 2 and a half hectares of vineyards. Fermentation occurs spontaneously with indigenous yeasts, and the wine is then aged in oak barrels (25% of which are new).
Meursault Premier Cru Les Genevrieres has a straw yellow color with almost greenish reflections. Its aromatic profile is broad with fruity notes of pear, quince, and lemon and herbaceous hints, typical of this cru.
On the palate, it is fresh and juicy, classy and concentrated. It has a good structure and a long, dry finish. It is excellent with foie gras, roast chicken, and turkey.
