Drink it now or cellar for up to 25 years. It is recommended to decant it for half an hour. Located east of the Saint-Emilion DOC, in the commune of Saint-Etienne de Lisse, the Château Mangot has very ancient origins dating back to about 5 centuries ago. In 1954, the estate was acquired aby Simone and Jean Petit who, with a lot of work, managed to join the estate of Château La Brande, located within the AOC Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux. The company, now managed aby Karl and Yann, nephews of Simone and Jean, is certified organic and practices sustainable viticulture, without the use of synthetic products to reduce the impact on the environment. The vineyard, which extends over 34 hectares between slopes, terraces, plateaus, and flat areas on calcareous soil, is exposed in full south. The large percentage of limestone in the soil enriches the structure of the wine, guaranteeing a good mineral vein. The finished wine is aged for about 15 months in oak barrels. The result is an elegant wine with a strong character, capable of aging well. The wine has an intense ruby color and a pleasant aromatic profile rich in notes of ripe red fruits and sweet spices. On the palate, it is full and well-structured with soft tannins and a well-integrated acid vein. The finish is long and seductive with light spicy notes. It is excellent with grilled red meats or lamb.
