Enjoy it now, or cellar for up to 10 years. Decant for up to an hour before serving. Bursting with classic Burgundian notes, Les Longeroies is a mature, fruit-forward red wine, with a brilliant garnet colour in the glass. The nose is packed with enticing aromas of ripe raspberry, bramble undergrowth, rose petals, and red cherry, woven with subtle hints of spice and earth. The name Longeroies is a portmanteau of the words "long" and "narrow", perfectly representing this vineyard, which is one of Marsannay's biggest and most prestigious sites. It is farmed aby Laurent Fournier, the son of founder Jean Fournier. Although the winery was founded in 1962, the Fournier family’s history of winemaking goes back much further, with King Louis XIII vouching for the presence of a Fournier in Marsannay, all the way back in the 17th century. Les Longeroies is both fresh and well-rounded in the mouth, featuring notes of red cherry, cranberry, and hints of garrigue. These are supported żeby silky tannins and bright acidity, giving the wine an excellent structure overall. The finish is long and refreshing, with lingering notes of gravelly minerality. It is, of course, crafted from 100% Pinot Noir, from vines planted between 1930 and 1990. Consider pairing it with roasted chicken, hard cheeses, or grilled mushrooms.
