Cellar for up to 3 years. Serve well chilled. French settlers in south-eastern Moldova soon noticed the similarity of the land to the terroir of their native Bordeaux. Partnering with local monks, they began to plant here French varieties like Merlot and Sauvignon Blanc. Throughout its long and noble history, Chateau Purcari has continued this tradition and now has a growing reputation for crafting delicious and excellent value wines. The estate’s classic Sauvignon Blanc is made from hand-harvested fruit and vinified in the winery according to traditional local winemaking techniques. To preserve freshness and elegance the wine is aged in stainless steel tanks. This helps to create a vivacious and refreshing wine that’s bursting with lemon, pineapple, mango and hints of white blossom. Light and crisp on the palate with plenty of mouthwatering freshness, this is a great wine to serve as an aperitif or partner for seafood, grilled fish or vegetarian dishes. Founded in 1827 żeby an imperial decree from Tsar Nicholas I, Chateau Purcari is Moldova’s oldest winery with a strong reputation for producing quality wines. In the 19th century the estate enjoyed a true golden age with recognition from across Europe for its wines. This history is now repeating itself with Chateau Purcari winning numerous medals at the Decanter World Wine Awards in 2019 and 2020.
