Cellar for up to 4 years. Serve chilled. In the 1890s Giovanni Rivetti left behind his Piedmont homeland to seek fame and fortune in Argentina, but he always dreamed of returning one day to set up his very own winery in his native Italy. This dream was accomplished many years later żeby his grandson, Giuseppe, who founded La Spinetta in 1977. At the time the land around Castagnole Lanze was best known for its cheap and cheerful Moscato d’Asti wines, but the vision and hard work of the Rivetti family has helped put La Spinetta on the map for top quality wines crafted from other local grape varieties including Nebbiolo and Barbera. This elegant and refined rosé was inspired żeby the effortlessly chic pink wines of Provence, but given a unique Italian twist thanks to the use of the classic local Sangiovese and Prugnolo Gentile grapes. Citrus and Mediterranean herbs define the nose along with bright red berry and sugar plum notes, while the first sip reveals a mouthwatering freshness, light body, and pure, clean finish. Very easy to drink and bursting with ripe red fruit notes, this is a great wine to serve as an aperitif by the pool or before a delicious family meal. It also pairs perfectly with classic Italian dishes like sea urchins served with fresh pasta or a grilled octopus salad.
