Enjoy it now, or cellar for a few years. No need to decant before serving. This is a white Côtes du Rhône blend, composed of 50% Roussanne, 30% Grenache Blanc, and 20% Clairette. It has a delicate, floral nose, with hints of stone fruit, apple, acacia and cream. Bécassonne comes from a hillside plot, where the vines grow in clayish soils. This imparts fantastically rich flavours and density to the wine. Domaine Andre Brunel is the heritage of the Brunel family, who can trace their winemaking roots back to the 17th century, when they purchased a plot from the Bishop of Avignon. Since 1971, it has been under the leadership of Andre Brunel, who has ushered in an era of immense growth and modernisation. The winery owns about 40 hectares of vines in the Cote du Rhône, which form the basis for this marvellous white blend. On the palate, the Bécassonne Cuvée balances a light, crisp character with a certain oily density. It was fermented and matured in concrete vats. Look for juicy flavours of peach, dried apricots, citrus, and quince, complemented aby hints of vanilla, lavender, spice and minerality. It is an elegant wine overall, crisp, tart, and perfect for pairing with fish, poultry or soft cheese.
