Drink it now or cellar for up to 10 years. No need to decant. Decoy is a California winery that is part of Duckhorn Vineyards since the release of their first harvest in 1985. Born with the aim of providing ready-to-drink wines at affordable prices, Decoy has, over time, cut out its fundamental role in the Duckhorn brand and its wide range now includes Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Zinfandel, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc, a red blend, a rosé, and a sparkling wine. Since 2020, the company has also been producing the Decoy Limited line, which includes limited-production wines coming from the most prestigious vineyards of California. The Decoy Limited Napa Valley Red Blend is mostly made of Merlot, with additions of Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Petite Verdot, and Zinfandel. California's temperate climate guarantees the conditions for the optimal maturation of the grapes, and the production of wines with seductive aromas and soft, elegant tannins. The finished wine is aged for 18 months in French oak barrels (40% new). This bold and intense red reveals a rich and captivating flavor profile with aromas of dark berries (cassis, black raspberry, and cherry) and sweet spices (nutmeg and cloves). On the palate, the wine is rich and robust. Its tannins are silky and the finish is long and pleasant, with notes of blackberry and cherry. It is a beautifully balanced wine, ready to be enjoyed now and capable of aging for a few years. It goes perfectly with pork and beef ribs.
