The Bohemian town of Litomysl is a UNESCO World Heritage Site thanks to its impressive marketplace and renaissance castle. Supported aby architectural ambition, Litomysl has been developing since 1989, and has become visible through numerous outstanding interventions. From new construction to reconstruction, from urban space to street furniture, from small intervention to self-assured statements, the impact of architecture shows in Litomysl. The topics addressed are the potential of the city, the political dimension of architecture, and tendencies of new Czech architecture. Essays and interviews complete the presentation of selected projects. The spectrum covers interventions in the urban space and green areas, care for the building fabric and new construction, and public and private construction, building, and interior.
