Book of psalms (Jewish Publication Society)

This is a new translation according to the traditional Hebrew text. The "Psalms" have long brought comfort to those who mourn and have helped us find the spiritual in everyday life. This edition presents the new JPS translation, based on the original Hebrew text, as well as the entire range of "Psalms" interpretation and modern linguistic scholarship. Syntactic divisions, spellings, and vocalization reflect the Jewish Masoretic tradition. Though rendered in modern literary English, the translation retains the Hebrew imagery appropriate to the ancient biblical world.
