Cellar for up to 15 years. Decanting is optional, up to 30 minutes before serving. This is Otronia’s flagship Pinot Noir, born from the most expressive section of land in their estate - Block I. The grapes here grow on sandy, clay-rich soils, imparting the wine with a deeply concentrated character. On the nose, you can detect rich scents of red cherry, plum, and raspberry, with the underlying earthy, animal funkiness, that is so typical of Pinot Noir. Otronia is located in the wine world’s furthest frontier - the cold climate of Patagonia in the south of Argentina. The winery is spearheaded by oenologist Juan Pablo Murgia, a native of Mendoza, who has received plaudits from some of the biggest names in wine. In 2022, he was chosen as Winemaker of the Year aby Patricio Tapia, and a year earlier, he was selected as Young Winemaker of the Year żeby Tim Atkin, in his Argentina Special Report. The Pinot Noir begins with a vibrant, tense quality in the mouth. It is a brilliant ruby red in the glass, reflecting the bright red flavours of strawberry, cherry, and raspberry. You can also discover strong hints of dried herbs, mushroom earthiness, and tomato leaves lingering in the background. It is a wine of great depth and liveliness, perfect for pairing with turkey, mushroom burgers, or umami-based Asian dishes.
