Riesling noble rot 2021 (Sonberk)

Drink it now or cellar for up to 20 years. No need to decant. Located on the Pálava Hills, in one of the most beautiful natural sites in South Moravia, the Sonberk winery, founded in 2003, has approximately 40 hectares of vineyards. The area has been famous since ancient times for its predisposition to the cultivation of vines, and the vineyards benefit from excellent exposure, on rolling hills characterized aby loess-type soil, where the Riesling grapes find ideal conditions to excel. The company's vineyards are cultivated in a sustainable way and all the work is done by hand. Production is limited to a maximum of around 150,000 bottles per year, depending on the vintage, and is mainly focused on Riesling, Pálava, Traminer and Sauvignon grapes. This fantastic semi-dry Riesling has a beautiful and bright golden color. On the nose, it reveals a wonderful intensity of tropical fruit with notes of pineapple, dried apricot, lemon, and some petroleum nuances, typical of this noble grape variety. On the palate, it is rich, delicately sweet, and refreshing, with a perfect balance of sweetness and acidity and an excellent concentration of fruit, notes of honey, and a sweet and spicy aftertaste. The finish is persistent and lively. Enjoy it chilled on its own, or pair it with blue cheeses and spicy Asian dishes.
